Care Giver for Adult with Intellectual Disability

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caretaker to support a young adult mother with an intellectual disability. This full-time position requires a reliable and patient individual who can assist with daily life management and skill-building activities. The caretaker will work Monday through Friday, providing essential support that enhances the quality of life and independence of the individual they care for.

Salary: $16 to $17 per hour, based on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily scheduling and organization of activities.

• Accompany to, from, and during doctor's appointments and other essential errands.

• Support in daily life skills such as cooking, cleaning, and maintaining hygiene.

• Provide emotional support and companionship.

• Ensure a safe and nurturing environment.

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and current auto insurance.

• Preferably experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.

• Experience working with children.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Patience, compassion, and a commitment to providing respectful and empathetic care.

• Comfortability around animals.

• Preferably residing in the Sandpoint area.
