Job Purpose:
Identifies and expands marketing opportunities by completing research; estimating demand and profit; overseeing new product introduction; managing staff.
Duties:
* Accomplishes market development human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
* Achieves market development operational objectives by contributing market development information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
* Meets market development financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
* Identifies new product and market opportunities by investigating new products for existing markets, new applications for existing products, new markets for existing products, new products in new markets.
* Develops strategic marketing plans for new opportunities by selecting opportunities for investigation; completing investment analysis; estimating long-term demand; establishing customer, pricing, advertising, and promotion strategies.
* Oversees new product introduction by coordinating master time schedule for engineering, production, marketing, and sales; preparing product specifications.
* Provides strategic business information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing market development data.
* Updates job knowledge by participating in trade shows and educational opportunities; reading professional and research publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
* Accomplishes marketing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
