Job Summary:
Primarily responsible for Inventory and MRO purchasing, Kanban order management. Other duties in support of domestic and global sourcing.
Essential Duties:
Responsibility for planning assigned Inventory/ Direct Materials using available historical usage information and forecasts.
Work with MRB to determine the disposition of rejected items and follow-thru on supplier corrective action requests.
Knowledge of:
Acceptable Experience or Training:
2 or 4 year degree in Purchasing, Materials, Business Administration, or a related field. Along with a minimum of 2 years' experience, purchasing in a manufacturing environment. Past experience purchasing direct material and components in support of a manufacturing/ Assembly operation preferred

Essential Duties:
- Primary responsibility for the inventory/ direct materials purchasing function in the assigned plant location. Including; sourcing, price negotiation, negotiated cost reductions, order placement, order entry and order maintenance within the Infor/XA system.
- Administer the Kanban system for both MRO and Inventory orders.
- Maintain accurate data in support of the supplier performance rating system.
- Participate in the supplier initial approval and periodic re-approval process; possibly becoming the purchasing lead for this function.
- Follow expenditure approval level procedure when placing orders.
- Maintain follow-up reports to assure on time delivery.
Responsibility for planning assigned Inventory/ Direct Materials using available historical usage information and forecasts.
- Coordinate and maintain records on Vendor Corrective Action Requests.
- Act on delivery promise requests, expedite, and de-expedite requests.
- Make arrangements to return rejected or excess items to suppliers.
Work with MRB to determine the disposition of rejected items and follow-thru on supplier corrective action requests.
- Focus on; cost reductions, inventory reductions, reduce product rejections, improve payment terms and on-time delivery performance.
- Improve and streamline purchasing tasks. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of:
- Purchasing, data entry, basic computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
- Knowledge for ERP/MRP systems (preferred)
- Basic ability to read blueprints, with the ability discuss component requirements with suppliers
