In this job, you' will be dismantling, inspecting, testing, and reassembling repairs on station equipment including pumps and motors. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!
  • Attend daily safety tailboard and jobs for the day
  • Request clearance for equipment to be inspected and or repaired
  • Review requested clearances to ensure proper isolation
  • Organize and gather tools and equipment to properly inspect and repair equipment
  • Repair and maintain all power plant equipment
  • Maintains a clean work environment throughout the power plant
  • Document all repairs and maintenance statuses on computer based programs
  • Performs strenuous manual labor.
The essentials
  • 2 or more years journeyman experience as a machinist or power plant mechanic
  • Maintain a valid California Class C Driver's License.
The preferred
  • Powerplant experience
  • Apprentice class.
  • Forklift and man lift experience
  • Ability to perform light machining, milling, and welding work
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Ability to perform strenuous manual labor.

  • This position's work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

  • Position will require up to 60% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
  • The primary work location for this position is Redlands. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at alternate work locations.

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
  • Must be able to work a set work schedule of 6\:00AM - 4\:30PM (4/10 work schedule).
  • Relocation does not apply to this position.
  • This position requires testing and applicants who are identified to continue through the selection process will be invited to test via email. Reference our Information Guides for the following tests\: EEI MASS Test #5105. Candidates who have previously passed these assessment(s), in some cases, may not need to retest again for this position.
