Requirements:

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution
• Current license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Alabama
• Certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
• Successful completion of background checks and any additional screenings required by state and local regulations
• Knowledge of Alabama educational policies and procedures related to speech therapy in school settings
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other school staff

Responsibilities:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments and evaluations to diagnose speech and language disorders in students
• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans and interventions to address students' communication goals
• Providing direct therapy services to students with various speech and language disorders, including articulation, language, fluency, and pragmatic skills
• Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' academic and social-emotional development
• Monitoring students' progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed, while maintaining accurate documentation of all therapy sessions and progress notes
• Participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contributing to the development of students' educational plans
• Staying current with evidence-based practices in speech-language pathology and participating in ongoing professional development activities
