Job description Medical Scribe needed for an Orthopedic Practice in DFW In this position, you will be required to follow and observe provider(s) during a full day clinic to accurately document every aspect of every patient encounter. Essential Functions and Responsibilities - Accompany provider(s) into the patient examination room to accurately and efficiently document the encounter. - Exhibit excellence in medical terminology - List all proper admission or discharge diagnoses as well as follow-up care instructions as dictated by the provider. - Multi-task efficiently and effectively as required. - Work under pressure, within time constraints. Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation. - Exhibit excellent listening skills. - Concentrate on the needs of the provider(s) throughout the entire shift. - Understand and observe legal concepts (e.g. HIPAA, confidentiality). - Other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Physical Requirements Must be able to type 60 wpm Must be able to drive to a different clinic location on most days. Schedule Tuesday-Ft. Worth/Decatur Thursday-Plano Friday-Frisco/Southlake Experience 1-year experience as a medical scribe preferred Travel to different offices throughout DFW is required for this position with some mileage reimbursement.
