Avita Home Health & Hospice is a non-profit 501c3 organization dedicated to providing home care and hospice services in the comfort of your own home, assisted living or nursing home. We are committed to servicing Richland, Crawford, Morrow and surrounding counties. We are your only locally owned, operated and governed home health and hospice agency and are honored to provide services to our neighbors in our communities.

In summary, the Marketing Liaison will be responsible for managing all aspects of organization marketing including managing key accounts, prospecting, establishing and maintaining positive relationships with customers and referral sources, responding to customer requests and concerns, and negotiating service contracts with managed care organizations, government agencies, and other payers.  

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall growth of designated territories within the licensed service area.
  • Understands and adheres to all laws, statutes and regulations regarding anti-kickback, lawful marketing activities (gifts and services), patient solicitation, and accurate marketing materials.
  • Assists the Executive Director/Finance Director in establishing organization volume projections in the annual budget and in establishing allocations for the marketing department. Monitors allocation of resources according to budgetary limitations.
  • Continuously conducts market assessments and develops a comprehensive marketing plan designed to meet budgetary volume projections.
  • Employs marketing and promotional initiatives to achieve budgetary volume projections.
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with current and potential referral and payer sources.
  • Builds and monitors community, customer, payer and patient perceptions of Avita Home Health & Hospice as a high-quality provider of services.
  • Contributes to strategic planning including identifying opportunities for additional or improved services to address customer needs.
  • Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of Avita Home Health & Hospice markets including government agencies, major payer groups, key referral sources, and competitor’s market positioning.
  • Maintains comprehensive working knowledge in the field of marketing and shares information with appropriate organization personnel.
  • Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of community resources and assists customers in accessing community resources should services not be provided by Avita Home Health & Hospice.
  • Monitors and reports cost effectiveness of marketing efforts.
  • Participates in fundraising and public relations activities.  Includes but not limited to promoting event, obtaining donations, securing various levels of event attendance. 
  • Supports Volunteer Coordinator in volunteer recruitment and marketing volunteer and other homecare and hospice events. 
  • Willing to travel to local areas for established face-to-face interactions with community members in various types of weather. 
  • Communicates regularly with our intake department to ensure communications and referrals are obtained and addressed as soon as possible. 
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events. 
  • Oversees the agency’s social media presence and other marketing efforts (i.e. print ads, radio ads, etc.) and collaborates with the Executive Director/Finance Director to determine the best marketing mediums to be used by agency.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, courtesy and maturity when dealing with all people (i.e., staff, managers, supervisors, administration, patients, visitors and medical staff). 
  • Maintains the integrity of confidential patient information in accordance with HIPAA and hospital policy, including accessing, using and disclosing patient information relevant to the individual employee’s job duties.  Also maintains confidentiality of other customer and Avita Home Health and Hospice business affairs. 
  • Adheres to the standards of Avita Home Health and Hospice compliance policies and seeks guidance and training when necessary to resolve questions about the policies.  Reports violations in accordance with compliance and organizational standards. 
  • Other duties as requested or assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or Health Related Field preferred.
  • Minimum High School Diploma (Degree preferred)
  • 2 Years working in home health or hospice industry – marketing experience preferred. 
  • RN/LPN licensure preferred, but not required
  • Marketing experience in medical field considered in lieu of home care or hospice experience. 
  • Demonstrates good communication skills, negotiation skills, and public relations Skills.
  • Ability to market aggressively and deal tactfully with customers and the community.
  • Knowledge of corporate business management.
  • Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint). 
  • Ability to interact with Avita Home Health and Hospice staff and other community members.
