Sure Steel is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent with expertise in pre-engineered metal building construction (PEMB). As a Construction Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing construction projects, specifically focusing on the implementation and execution of pre-engineered metal building systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.


Responsibilities:

  • Take overall responsibility for the successful completion of construction projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Utilize your specialized knowledge and experience in pre-engineered metal building systems (PEMB) to provide technical guidance and support to project teams. Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Supervise and direct construction crews, subcontractors, and other personnel involved in the project. Provide clear instructions, coordinate activities, and manage workflow to maintain productivity and achieve project goals.
  • Promote and enforce a safe work environment by implementing and adhering to all applicable safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with quality standards. Conduct inspections, review work progress, and address any deviations or deficiencies promptly.
  • Monitor project budgets, control expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide project updates, address concerns, and ensure client satisfaction throughout the construction process.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports, including progress reports, daily logs, change orders, and other project-related documentation.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management, with a specific focus on pre-engineered metal building construction. Demonstrated experience in successfully completing projects of similar scope and complexity.
  • In-depth knowledge of pre-engineered metal building systems, including design, fabrication, erection, and integration with other construction components. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills. Proven ability to motivate and guide construction teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders, including clients, architects, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify issues, propose effective solutions, and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Thorough understanding of construction safety regulations and best practices. Commitment to fostering a culture of safety on construction sites.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Bilingual preferred, but not required.
  • Must be willing/able to travel from project to project throughout the country and be away from home for an extended period of time.
