The Department of Military & Veterans Affairs is looking for an independent, responsible candidate to fill our Clerical Assistant 2 position at the Pennsylvania Soldiers and Sailors Home in Erie, PA.

This position provides administrative and clerical support to the Business Manager at the Pennsylvania Soldiers and Sailors Home.
Responsibilities of this position include the following:
- Operate the main switchboard for the facility.
- Provide clerical support to other departments as necessary.
- Prepares automotive reports and energy reports as needed.
- Reviews timecards on a regular basis.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $34,621 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment may require satisfactory completion of a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
