A Store Manager is a dynamic, attentive, and inspiring leader who is responsible for ensuring our brand experience thru overall management of team associates and daily operations. You directly report to and are given operation guidelines by an Area Manager. You work closely with the Support Office to meet corporate goals and to develop and implement promotional programs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
SALES AND PROFITABILITY
- Proactively seek ways to better promote the store, expand traffic, encourage customer loyalty, and increase overall sales
- Work with comparable sales to last year, sales to budget, and future trends to maximize profitability and exceed sales goals.
- Accurately report store metrics and perform cash operational functions
- Manage controllable costs with a focus on profitability
TEAM DEVELOPMENT
- Develop store staff by recruiting, selecting, training, and supervising a team of associates that are proficient with their job and provide customers with a positive shopping experience.
- Implement cross-training of employees to always maintain productivity.
- Develop and maintain a staff schedule centered on sales volume and promotions.
- Manage others through subordinate supervisors. Provide mentoring, coaching, and problem-solving guidance to assistant managers and team leads.
MERCHANDISING & PROMOTIONS
- Lead and delegate merchandise processing and replenishment
- Maintain proper inventory levels and accurate on hands
- Ensure proper merchandising and set integrity per company standards
STORE CONDITIONS
- Ensure the store looks clean and presentable at all times
- Ensure team associates are in dress code and represent the brand well
- Promote a positive and safe working environment
- Maintain store equipment by following preventative maintenance schedules and properly reporting maintenance issues
Required Job Qualifications
Education requirements:
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years retail management experience
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong leadership skills and sufficient understanding of sales & profitability data
- Able to recognize an emergency situation
- Proven ability to provide superior customer service and drive customer loyalty
- Ability to assess talent and manage performance
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
- Be available for after hours store emergencies
- Recognize an emergency situation and take appropriate action
- Take action when answers to a problem are not readily apparent
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when needed
- Ability to stand throughout shift
- Ability to lift items above head
- Ability to stoop, bend and lift items
Required qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred qualifications:
- 18 years or older
