Job Description
DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY:
To design new or modify existing electrical control systems, including PLC, Servo, VFD, and HMI's to meet the customers application in accordance with all pertinent national, state, local and company regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
• Design and analyze electrical control systems and assemblies including the mechanical machines they are integrated on.
• Develop, release and revise electrical drawings
• Ensure designs are safe, effective, manufacturable, reliable and cost effective
• Perform inspections, verification and validation testing
• Meet and fulfill project timelines and budgets
• Lead by example and assist in the training and development of other company employees as needed.
• Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management
• Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
• retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Must be a self-starter, creative team player, friendly, professional, detail-oriented and honest
Must have the ability to:
o Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
o Work as part of a multi-disciplined cross-functional team
o Use hand tools and other electrical trouble-shooting equipment
o Read and comprehend work instructions
o Prepare and present summary reports
o Travel both domestically and internationally as needed. Travel can be up to 3 weeks at a given period of time (rare)
Must have:
o Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement
o Intermediate working knowledge of electrical control/power distribution/relay logic
o Intermediate working knowledge of AutoCad
o Intermediate working knowledge of Rockwell Software Packages including Studio 5000 and RSLogix 5000/500/5 software.
o Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
o Strong mechanical inclination
o Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
PREFERRED SKILLS:
o Strong working knowledge of Rockwell Software packages
