Job Description

The Position

This position is a member of the Inspection department. The Quality Technician will report directly to the Quality Manager.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct basic inspection function by utilizing equipment and tools such as micrometers, scales, venire, calipers, gauges, profilometers, comparator, coordinate measuring machine, variety of hand tools.
  • Under minimum direction, plans and performs quality inspection on all materials for dimensional and material acceptance.
  • Includes raw material, work-in-progress, finished manufactured goods and incoming vendor purchased goods.
  • Performs quality techniques to track, analyze and report on materials, processes and products.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for disposition of any item which fails to meet the required specifications and quality standards.
  • Prepares necessary documentation when using outside resources. (i.e. heat treating, plating, coating, machining, and fabrication)
  • Monitor returns materials authorization (RMA) system to ensure compliance with company guidelines and standards.
  • Receive, inspect and process returned material from customers.
  • Maintain process for final disposition of all parts for inventory control
  • Ensure accurate quantities are recorded on work orders and purchase orders for data entry
  • Transfer technical specifications from the blueprints to quality assurance forms
  • Scan and file non-conforming products reports and completed quality assurance forms
  • Assists in ISO 9001 implementation and auditing process
  • Maintain quality assurance forms required for detail part inspection procedures
  • Provide clerical assistance to the Quality Assurance Department
  • Provide other clerical work as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager
  • Is 100% committed to the quality process

Job Requirements

Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent with minimum of five (5) year experience in Manufacturing, inspection and quality control or Associate Degree/Vocational training in related field.

Skills & Relevant Work Experience
  • Proficient written and verbal skills are required.
  • MS Office product literate
  • Blueprint reading required
