About this job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating multiple projects across diverse teams. Your primary focus will be on developing efficient processes, executing effective strategies, and ensuring the timely completion of projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively make suggestions and critical decisions that affect profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively develop and maintain the Product Engineering team, while identifying / implementing improvements in engineering processes.
  • Manage the day-to-day and long-term activities for the Engineering department, including annual goals setting and performance reviews.
  • Serve as the product engineering lead for all products shipped from the manufacturing facility.
  • Review projects / activities to determine timeframe and actions needed for success, with particular emphasis on the timely release of information to production.
  • Provide Engineering metrics for the Monthly Business Reviews (MBR's).
  • Review product designs and drawings for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Review proposed product specifications related to custom product orders to determine feasibility and manage the release-to-production process.
  • Coordinate activities concerned with product technical development, scheduling, building prototypes, and resolving engineering design and test issues.
  • Offer Warranty assistance to ensure rapid resolution to field issues.
  • Prepare costing reports on current and new designs to ensure decisions are based on accurate data.
  • Be flexible to take on special projects as needed.
  • Participate in seminars, meetings, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments in the dump truck industry.
  • Confer with personnel in other departments such as sales, marketing, manufacturing, Finance, and Procurement to provide technical information and advisement as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Management / Supervisor experience
  • Experience with ERP / BOM Systems
  • Experience in the truck equipment industry is preferred
  • Proficient in SolidWorks
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to maintain, be responsible for, and keep current on scheduled workload
  • Ability to see situations from a variety of viewpoints (customer, employee, management, etc.)
  • Occasional travel, valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization
  • Must be a team player with high integrity and strong work ethics to meet company goals.
