Job Description
The Supply Chain Specialist will continually explore sourcing/re-sourcing opportunities arising from process and product improvements, new technology, alternative materials and suppliers, enhancements in supply chain activities, cost reduction programs, and other opportunities that may present a competitive advantage with the goal of attaining the optimal balance of quality, service, availability, and value.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Lead negotiations in collaboration with the assigned Buyers for existing and new Supplier Agreements, Contract Negotiations, Inventory Agreements, Price Negotiations.
· Lead the RFP/RFQ process and coordinate communication between Suppliers and internal team members.
· Monitors the actual versus agreed to cost savings, inflation, and lead times..
· Assist in preparing all necessary reports to support negotiations and visits to Suppliers.
· Leads all activities related with New Supplier visits from preparing all necessary information and follow-up on actions agreed from meetings.
· Actively pursue continuous improvement with current and potential suppliers.
· Continually explore Sourcing/Re-sourcing opportunities arising from process and product improvements, new technology, alternative materials and suppliers, enhancements in supply chain activities, cost reduction programs, and other opportunities that may present a competitive advantage.
· Serve as a commodity specialist by tracking market trends and economic conditions affecting the company’s Supply Base and developing sourcing strategies that minimize risk to the overall supply chain.
· Conduct on-site review of supplier facilities and product/process capability and capacity to assess current and potential supplier qualifications.
· Serves as a back-up for Buyers as needed.
· Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing professional publications.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
· Strong analytical skills
· Proven ability to develop strong business relationships with key suppliers and experience in developing and executing long term agreements.
· Must possess skills to do research, analysis, and understand procurement processes and workflows in order to make recommendations to meet business needs.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, organizational and project management skills, written and verbal communication skills.
· Computer literate and proficient using Microsoft software suite, data entry, and data management. Knowledge of SAP software is critical.
· Ability to respond consistently with a high degree of initiative to resolve issues or complex problems that may arise.
· A courteous and professional demeanor.
· Superior negotiation skills including the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management both internally and externally, including cross functional teams.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) and/or previous Supply Chain Experience
· Minimum 5 Years of Supply Chain Experience, with 2-4 years of experience in Sourcing or Supplier Development
