Environmental Health & Safety Specialist

The Environmental Health & Safety Specialist will implement policies and procedures, at the direction of the Corporate EHS Manager, to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. They will conduct inspections of the facilities and settings to ensure applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations are being met.

• Implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.
• Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures in order to make environmental, health and safety recommendations appropriately.
• Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy and procedure manuals.
• Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
• Serves as the contact person with all federal, state and local regulatory bodies.
• Maintain workflow, communicate significant problems or production delays to the next level in the chain of command.
• Prepares and presents EHS training materials and courses.
• Support environmental regulatory compliance as required.
• Support investigations and corrective actions.
• Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
• Responsible for maintaining all compliance documentation and filing.
• Monitors compliance with safety and environmental procedures.
• Support the CARE values of the organization.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Minimum of 2 years related experience.
• Extensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and programs, including OSHA.
• Extensive knowledge of environmental compliance programs, including Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, Hazardous Waste, and Air Permitting.
• Experience working with federal, state and local regulatory.
• Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental health and safety inspections.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
