Accounting Manager (Controller)

General Description: OMW Corporation is a highly respected contract manufacturing company specializing in precision machining of custom metal and plastic parts for some of the world’s largest aerospace, electronics, and healthcare companies. We’ve been in business for over 28 years, own our own building, and are rapidly growing. We are looking for another team member to join us long term.

Accounting Manager Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for preparation, assignment and coordination of all accounting transactions.
• Prepares monthly and periodic financial statements. Takes ownership of the entire process, assigns and supervises tasks where appropriate, and ensures timeliness of reporting with a high degree of accuracy and in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Identifies opportunities to implement changes and scale financial infrastructure to align with rapid company growth.
• Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and processes.
• Responsible for the integrity of data interfaces with Company ERP system and other internal systems and takes the lead in developing workflows.
• Provides financial analysis support as needed.
• Performs or oversees staff and resources responsible for billing, collections, accounts payable transactions. Provides training and direction.
• Ensures compliance with local, state and federal government requirements.
• Determines the adequacy of current financial systems. Initiates system upgrades and takes the lead role in any new accounting system implementations.
• Presents financial information in user friendly dashboard and graphic formats where needed.
• Develop departmental budgets and monitor forcasting
• Create and track cost accounting in an evolving environment
• Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations and participating in educational opportunities.

Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or equivalent experience. Concentration in accounting education is a minimum requirement.
• Minimum 6-8 years’ experience in a senior accounting role.
• Hands on accounting experience required and experience delegating tasks or managing staff.
• Highly proficient with accounting software, particularly QuickBooks Enterprise or comparable accounting software.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a major plus.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office suite required.
• Solid GAAP and financial reporting technical skills.
• Experience operating in a high growth environment is desirable as this position presents the opportunity for an accounting professional to be challenged and grow with the company.

Compensation based on experience.
