We supply utility trailers, landscape trailers, equipment trailers, car haulers, tow dollies, dump trailers, gooseneck trailers, and enclosed cargo trailers. Additionally, we provide trailer parts & trailer accessories and have a service department to repair customers’ trailers and perform preventative maintenance.

Reports to: Service Manager

Primary job responsibilities:

• Trailer Unloading and Check-in Process:
• Unload, assemble, check-in, and park new trailer inventory
• Complete & submit Trailer Inventory Check-in sheets
• Execute NC Trailers Hookup Technicians' role in the Sales Process
• Discuss safety and accessory recommendations with the customer
• Install accessories at the point of sale
• Hookup trailer to customer’s vehicle
• Check proper function and safety of trailer and vehicle
• Complete the hookup form and submit to the manager
• Identify and sell trailer accessory parts at the point of hookup
• Discuss and sell parts & accessories.
• Identify and execute job priorities to ensure customer needs are met across the yard, hookup, and service coordinator roles.
• Organize trailer inventory on the lot.
• Diagnose basic trailer and vehicle wiring issues.
• Operate forklift to unload parts and trailers.
• Change tires using a tire-changing machine
• Unload tires, wheels, and other parts by hand or with a forklift.
• Assist team with: trailer and parts inventory counts, maintenance of facilities, company vehicle and equipment maintenance, maintaining lights and bulbs, repairing fences and banners, cleaning bathrooms and work areas
• Provide backup for the duties of the Trailer Inventory Coordinator and the Service Coordinator as needed.
• Reporting Requirements: Trailer Check-in Sheet, Customer Hookup Checklist, Weekly Tasks Checklist.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Physical ability to stand, bend, squat and lift 50 lbs throughout the day including overhead, unload tires, wheels, and other parts by hand and with a forklift, and get on and off tractor throughout the day.
• NC Drivers license
• Required equipment operation experience: Tractor, forklift, tire changing machine, general power tools, hand tools. Ability to tow and back a trailer and ability to pass a tractor driving assessment.
• Must be able to work Saturdays and before/after regular business hours.
• Must be available to work before or after hours for trailer unloading and check-in.
• General work experience: Working outside in the hot and cold weather, communicating directly with customers.
• Must be able and willing to talk directly with customers.
• Knowledge of parts & accessories (locks, spare tires, etc.)
• General math skills include addition, subtraction, multiple, dividing, calculating sales tax, and the ability to pass math and tape measure assessments.
• Computer literate and able to enter and retrieve data from various systems.
• Legible handwriting.
• Able to work independently and as an active member of a team.

Store Hours: Monday - Friday: 9:00-5:30, Saturday: 9:00-2:00
