Job Description

Job Title:   Catholic, Protestant Religious Education Services

Location:   Schofield Barracks , HI 96857

Duties:

  • Coordinate CCD and RE Programs for North & South Catholic Community Groups.
  • Coordinate, Plan, and execute Catholic Confirmation Retreat, Sacramental Celebrations,

rehearsals, and parent meetings.

  • Attend religious education coordination meetings
  • Coordinate, plan, prepare and participate in Vacation Bible School
  • Recruit, train and support volunteers
  • Coordinate Religious Education Programs for Protestant Community

Qualifications:

  • The Candidate should have an Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • The Candidate should have Computer skills sufficient to create, maintain, and send reports.

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor Degree in Christian Religious Education, or another ministry field from an accredited university. In lieu of a ministry degree employees may possess a Bachelor's degree in another field of study from an accredited university and possess two years of work experience in a military chapel environment (paid or volunteer) as a religious education coordinator, Christian school teacher, youth minister, Bible school teacher or related field.
  • Catholic specific training/certification: A religious education/Catechetical Certification provided by the Archdiocese for the Military Services, and a minimum of two (2) years teaching experience in a military

Catholic Religious Education/Youth oriented program is required.

  • Must have the ability to work effectively in a fluid, fast paced, multi-faceted, pluralistic environment that engenders significant levels of stress and requires a high degree of coordination and cooperation among the chapel staff and the clients who seek assistance.
