Job Description

This position requires you as the Traveling Superintendent to travel throughout the United States, and occasionally internationally. The ideal candidate can be based anywhere within the USA but must be willing to travel to project sites as necessary. The work schedule adheres to a pattern of 10 consecutive days on duty followed by 4 days off, with all travel expenses accommodation and food allowances covered

 

Responsibilities

The essential functions of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) revolve around the design, installation, maintenance, and operation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within buildings and other structures.· You will be locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors & suppliers.· Reports, i.e. cost to complete, monthly billings and status.

· Developing scopes of work for review and approval.

· Development of project schedule within the entire construction

· Estimates project. Individual poses the ability to coordinate and manage trades throughout build process, qualified bidders and negotiate final prices.

· Preparation of various reports, i.e. cost to complete, monthly billings and

· status reports.

· Review all drawings, i.e. P&IDs, Mechanical, Electrical, Shop, Architectural, Structural,

· etc. when they are issued to the field and coordinate and maintain a current set at all

· times.

· Pricing work, draft changes and change orders to be reviewed.

· Ensuring customer satisfaction with the project.

· Manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion.

· Schedule work, including subcontractors, Productivity and quantity tracking of the subcontractors installed work.

· Determine materials, equipment and tools needed.

· Secure appropriate supply sources.

· Set up and close out construction site.

· Serve as on-site Safety Officer when one is not specifically assigned to the project. And

· also, will be required to participate in the company’s safety portion of the QMS program.

· Responsible for procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to

· conform to work schedules.

· Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning.

· phases of construction to prevent delays.

In addition to these technical functions, as an MEP professional you will engage

in collaboration with architects, engineers, contractors, and otherstakeholders throughout the construction process. Effective communication,project management, problem-solving, and teamwork are also essential skills to successfully execute your duties.

Qualifications

•Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school AND a minimum of

seven (7) years of construction on data centre experience OR a minimum 15 years (from ground up)

related construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree.

• Experience within the light/heavy industrial sector highly desired.

• Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Must be able to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports,

and legal/contract documents.

• Strong people management skills.

• Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize Microsoft applications (Word,

Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), tablets and smartphones.

• MS project and other scheduling software a plus.

• Must possess a strong work ethic and be an energetic, self-motivated individual who enjoys a

team environment, as well as a passion for collaboration and professional development.

• Must posses the ability to think for his/herself and be able to manage without direction having

to be given
