Position Overview:
The Quality Assurance/Risk Manager will be responsible for managing, directing, and planning all quality assurance and risk management activities within the hospital. This pivotal role involves collaborating with hospital administration, departments, and medical staff to monitor and evaluate the quality of patient care services, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies, accrediting bodies, and hospital policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and enforce facility, departmental, state, and federal policies, regulations, and legislation for quality of patient care services.
- Analyze, evaluate, and summarize quality assurance and risk management data.
- Investigate staff complaints, patient abuse reports, and reported problems related to hospital systems and operations.
- Inspect the physical plant for compliance with life safety code and sanitation requirements.
- Coordinate and chair hospital-wide Quality Assurance committee meetings.
- Prepare reports, maintain files and records of quality assurance/risk management activities.
- Participate in continuing education programs and ensure compliance with Corporate Compliance policies and procedures.

Skills and Abilities Required:
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations, rules, policies, and procedures related to quality assurance/risk management.
- Ability to interpret and analyze clinical care practices and identify potential quality issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in organizing and leading meetings effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with interdisciplinary staff.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required.
- Must be licensed or certified according to Nebraska state requirements or obtain within the first year of employment.
- Quality and/or Risk Management experience, including performance improvement activities and regulatory compliance.
- Two years of clinical experience in a human services agency, including one year of administrative, evaluative, or consultative experience in a healthcare program.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Sedentary work with flexible hours, Monday through Friday, dependent on workload.
