Construction Safety Officer

Location: Cutler, ME

Length: 9 month contract, with potential hire - healthcare benefits offered through Insight Global

Pay rate: $50-$62/hour depending on candidate experience

Required Skills and Experience *

- 5-10 years of safety oversight experience on construction site, developing and implementing safety and health programs at hazardous waste sites

- Hands-on Quality control: experience inspecting, photographing and documenting (earth work, concrete, coordinating composition and rebar, testing, etc.

- Experience in conducting hazard analyses

- Experience with heavy utilities: electric, water, concrete

- Working knowledge of state and Federal occupational safety and health regulations

- OSHA 30 Construction Safety

Nice to Have Skills and Experience

- EMT Training (30-40 hours), First Aid Certified, CPR Certified

- Safety 40 hour training course -- client will pay for employee to complete

As the Site Safety and Health Officer/Quality Control Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that our team members are safe and healthy while on the job. You will be responsible for onsite training and daily implementation/enforcement of the Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP). You must ensure site compliance with specified safety and health requirements, Federal, state and OSHA regulations and all aspects of the APP/SSHP. This includes: activity hazard analyses, air monitoring, use of PPE, decontamination, site control, standard operating procedures used to minimize hazards, safe use of engineering controls, the emergency response plan, confined space entry procedures, spill containment program, and preparation of records by performing a daily safety and health inspection and documenting results on the Daily Safety Inspection Log in accordance with 29 CFR 19041.
