POSITION TITLE: Associate Director, Distribution & Logistics
Reports to: Director, Distribution & Logistics
SUMMARY:
A global leader in designing and manufacturing vehicles service, collision, and automotive OEM equipment, is looking for a seasoned warehousing and shipment leader to join our growing Madison, Indiana facility. Reporting to the Director, Distribution and Logistics, the role is responsible for supporting management and leadership of inbound materials, material and product storage, material movements, and order shipments. This role will work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Scheduling, Sales, Product Management, and Engineering teams as well as others. Heavy focus areas for the role include supporting on time delivery of parts and equipment orders, inventory accuracy, warehouse design, data analysis, and utilization of strong project management and presentation skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that employee safety requirements are being strictly adhered to with a goal of zero lost work time injuries. Responsible for compliance to all EPA, OSHA, hazardous materials, and government related procedures and regulations. Responsible for maintaining a high level of housekeeping with all work areas and equipment being maintained in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Ensures on time delivery of parts and equipment orders.
- Support warehouse design, layout analysis, and presentation of plans and actions.
- Support inventory management and cycle counting process management.
- Oversee all aspects of the traffic function including inbound/outbound optimization, route utilization, proper carrier selection and load consolidation.
- Effectively contains logistical cost and consistently analyzes cost reduction opportunities by applying best in class methodologies.
- Develops metrics and consistently monitors incoming receiving for accuracy. Promptly informs materials/procurement of trends in receiving discrepancies.
- Establishes standards for parts picking and shipping. Monitors standards for adherence and develops productivity plans on an annual basis.
- Participate in product planning, development, and rationalization of new and existing products.
- Responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements in the Parts and Shipping areas which improve cost, efficiency, and productivity.
- World Class (Lean) Manufacturing – Responsible for the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate waste.
OVERALL QUALIFICATIONS – Skills and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Experience: Five to seven years’ related experience in a manufacturing environment with extensive knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures. Must have solid PC skills. Dedicated to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing. Experience with ISO9000 operating principles.
