Job Description:



Overview: As a Grounds Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and attractiveness of outdoor spaces within our facilities. Your role will involve a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining the landscaping, grounds, and exterior areas to create a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing environment for employees, clients, and visitors.


Responsibilities:


1. Landscaping and Lawn Care:
Mow, edge, and trim lawns using manual or powered equipment.
Plant, water, and maintain flowers, shrubs, and trees.
Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other lawn care products as needed.
2. Grounds Maintenance:
Remove debris, litter, and leaves from outdoor areas.
Repair or replace damaged fences, gates or others for the site maintenance.

3. Irrigation and Drainage:
Monitor and adjust irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of landscaping.
Clear and maintain drainage ditches, gutters, drains and others.
4. Seasonal Maintenance:
Perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal, leaf blowing, and de-icing of walkways during winter months.
Prepare outdoor spaces for special events or activities.

5. Equipment Maintenance:
Inspect and maintain grounds keeping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools.
Report any equipment malfunctions or repair needs to supervisors.
6. Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines while performing grounds maintenance tasks.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices for landscaping and pesticide use.
Maintain records of maintenance activities and product usage.

7. Collaboration:
Coordinate with other maintenance staff to prioritize tasks and share resources.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to address maintenance needs and concerns.

Qualifications:


High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in landscaping or grounds maintenance is a plus.
Previous experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping.
Knowledge of lawn care techniques, plant care, and landscaping principles.
Ability to safely operate groundskeeping equipment and tools.
Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
