Employment-focused non-profit agency for court-involved citizens currently seeking a Legal Services Coordinator/Case Manager. The ideal candidate is a professional with a legal background, who is interested in helping court-involved citizens holistically restore their lives. The candidate is expected to be a Legal Services Coordinator first and a Case Manager second. This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday, with a full benefits package. The position reports directly to the Elizabeth Site Director and the General Counsel. NJRC operates facilities statewide, and the candidate will be expected, at times, to travel to courts and other appointments around the state. The candidate will be trained in the relevant areas of legal services, including criminal history searches, municipal court advocacy, and navigation of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission.

Responsibilities: The Legal Services Coordinator/Case Manager will lead and present multiple weekly group sessions to court-involved citizens, conduct one-on-one legal assessment meetings, provide ongoing case management/outreach to a large caseload, and engage in community outreach. As a Case Manager, all clients will require non-legal social service navigation/case management, and some will require more advanced legal assistance which must be approved by the General Counsel. The ability to learn and use the Salesforce system is an absolute requirement for this position. Knowledge of criminal justice issues or willingness to be taught by our Director of Legal Services and working knowledge of Google Office Suite and Microsoft Office is required.

Preferred: Pre-law undergraduate degree; experience with the Salesforce system; direct experience with court-involved citizens; experience with program and process evaluation. Law school students and Spanish speakers are strongly encouraged to apply. A paralegal certificate is a plus.

The starting salary is $50,000. Salary Negotiable.
