Residential Support Staff - Lexington & Buena Vista, VA Location Openings

RACS is currently seeking a motivated, qualified individual to work in one of our area residential group homes located in Lexington, VA or Buena Vista, VA. RACS will provide training, supervision, and education opportunities specific to the position.

We have been providing services throughout Rockbridge and Bath counties and the cities of Lexington and Buena Vista since 1982.

Position Overview:

Requires direct care assistance to individuals in group home settings serving adults with developmental disabilities. Essential functions of the position include providing supervision/assistance/training in daily living skills; requires assistance with recreational opportunities, daily documentation, administration/monitoring of medications, light housekeeping and the use of a personal computer.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate/GED preferred.
• Experience working with adults that have developmental disabilities required.
• CNA experience desired but not required.
• Excellent communication, computer, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Must be energetic, positive, enthusiastic, and able to solve routine problems and adapt well to change.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a safe driving record per RACS policy.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

Probationary Period: All persons that are newly hired, rehired, transferred, promoted, or demoted into a Rockbridge Area Community Services position must serve a new 6-month probationary period.
