Position Description:

Provides support to the users of the Microsoft Dynamics Business Central application system and ancillary software tools, including configuration, enhancements & process improvements, problem resolution, training and education, report development. Fosters and insures the successful use of the application systems tools.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provides user support for Dynamics BC.
  • Assists in developing and designing changes to how Dynamics BC interacts with other applications.
  • Develops/updates work processes for users of the Dynamics BC system.
  • Performs first pass review of support requests along with recommendations if request should go to a different team member.
  • Performs cost vs. benefit analysis to determine rationale for application system development and enhancements.
  • Develops the technical and functional requirements for changes and enhancements to Dynamics BC.
  • Either directly implements or works with others to implement the changes/enhancements to Dynamics BC they develop.
  • Acts as liaison to the software vendors and other users of the software.
  • Advises users as to the applicability of various alternatives to meet the specified requirements, and or changes to business processes.
  • Performs thorough testing of all new and revised system functions/reports and performs quality assurance reviews of procedural documentation and training materials.
  • All other tasks as defined by Manager.
  • Communicates status of work items.
  • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Company's Vision, Mission, Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers, and suppliers.
  • Complies with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Education/Experience:

Required:

  • Associates Degree
  • 3-5 years of experience in customer service / Information Technology
  • 5+ years of Dynamics BC/NAV support experience. In-depth knowledge of BC/NAV service module.
  • Experience creating specs or designing integrations between BC/NAV and other systems.
  • Experience with item management and impacts of different costing methods.
  • Knowledge of the relationships between the database tables in BC/NAV.
  • Experience designing and building PowerBI reports.

Preferred:

  • Experience using Binary Stream MEM
  • Experience working with Lanham EDI in how it impacts configuration and build requirements outside of EDI.
  • Experience using Atlassian Jira.
  • Experience using Salesforce.
  • Experience coordinating internal and external team members.
  • Proficiency in analysis, design, and testing techniques.
  • Good project management skills, including planning, methodologies, time tracking, leadership, etc.
  • Good communication skills, and team oriented.

Travel:

  • Travel as needed.

Competencies:

  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements.
  • Ability to categorize support requests into concise tickets for easy follow-up and resolution.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a quickly changing list of requirements.
  • Ability to create concise and usable documents outlining process.
  • Strong process and software documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communications skills at all levels, to both technical and non-technical audiences
