Job Description
  • Implements and coordinates safety program to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, and financial losses.
  • Identifies and appraises conditions which could produce accidents and financial losses and evaluates potential extent of injuries and losses resulting from accidents.
  • Conducts or directs activities to identify hazards and evaluate loss producing potential of given system, operation or process.
  • Develops accident-prevention and loss-control systems and programs for incorporation into operational policies of the organization.
  • Compiles, analyzes, and interprets statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational injuries, illness and accidents and prepares reports for information of personnel concerned.
  • Prepare and maintain safety related records and reports
  • Coordinates and performs regular safety meetings, safety training, and site visits around the West Texas area.
  • Conducts accident, incident and near miss investigations and reporting (root cause analysis).
  • Ensure compliance with government, industry, and customer-centric safety regulations.
  • Conduct employee placement, knowledge and practical exams related to the electrical utility industry.
  • Assist employees and management 24/7.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years related experience and training in the electrical utility field.
  • Must possess strong knowledge of Federal and State work safety laws and regulations, OSHA Construction standards, Distribution Lines, Transmission Lines and Substations.
  • Must have OSHA 30 (less than 5 years old) OR OSHA 500 certificate, CPR/First Aid/AED certified Instructor, OR able to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Must pass a background and/or MVR check.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, training, organizational, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
