Position Summary:


We are looking for a DriveWorks, Configurator, PDM - Designer. This position will develop and maintain DriveWorks, Configurator and PDM tools around SolidWorks 3D Mech, 2D Elec and 3D Elec to support Engineering, Fabrication and Procurement, ultimately create configurable standards and design automation for Sales support.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support standardizing design criteria, product models and modeling techniques across the engineering department, leading to improvement of quality and efficiency.
  • Developing DriveWorks, Configurator and PDM and Managing or programming a product configurator using DriveWorks and SolidWorks, 3D Mechanical, 2D/3D Electrical and PDM.
  • Ability to integrate DriveWorks within the ERP system, generating production information for the Shop Floor and owning the Sales interface to quoting standard products.
  • Develop, program and support Configure, Price and Quote (CPQ) solutions using DriveWorks, Configurator and PDM, based on business needs.
  • Develop Product Models in Configurator Studio and Design Automation for SolidWorks.
  • Support CPQ to develop and maintain the commercial aspects (i.e. pricing, proposals, etc.) of an engineered-to-order product into a configure-to-order product.
  • Integrate drawing templates, calculations, engineered tables for various BOM's.
  • Meet Initiative goals and deadlines for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Supports the development, implementation and improvements to Engineering standards, practices and conventions.
  • Maintenance of created Tools through good documentation and support of Production Engineering.
  • Keeps up to date with changing codes of design practices.
  • Follows all ISO quality control procedures, Safety program and company Core Values.
  • Ensure the security of the Company's Intellectual Property.
  • Continual education of the industry and trends.

Qualifications:

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Decision quality, attention to detail, teamwork, organizing, action oriented, creativity, customer focus, timely decision making, integrity and trust, perseverance, perspective, setting priorities, problem solving, process management, drive for results, self-development, standing alone and time management.
  • Strong Professional and Premium SolidWorks, PDM, DriveWorks and Configurator experience.
  • 3D CAD tools preferred, SolidWorks; legacy AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with best practice of business procedures and workflows regarding interaction between sales, engineering and execution teams.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • In depth understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Proficient in statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, steel design and basic electrical design.
  • In-depth understanding AISC, AWS, CMAA, ANSI/ASME, OSHA, MHI specifications & requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 & SharePoint.


Education and Experience

  • Overhead crane experience preferred.
  • Engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, manufacturing) preferred.
  • 2+ years of DriveWorks and Configurator Suite design experience with electro-mechanical systems.

Work Environment

  • In-office setting.
  • Sitting and standing
  • Able to walk shop floor and traverse stairs, and able to lift up to 30 lbs.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work


This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
