  • Pay commensurate with experience. Annual Salary Range $80,000 - $115,000

Position Purpose

Direct and coordinate all Warehouse, Shipping and Manufacturing operations. Oversee and support the direction and coordination of all facility operations along with managing personnel, and supply chain transportation. Works directly with the Vice President on the overall strategy, business decisions and direction of operations.

Attendance and Schedule

Consistent and regular attendance is required. The full-time exempt position will work a minimum of 40 hours per week. Devote the time and energy necessary to ensure responsibilities are covered and objectives are met; may work additional hours based on business needs. Some travel is required. Scheduled workdays may vary, with potential for Mon-Thurs schedule.

Essential Duties

  • Plan, prioritize, and direct all work activities across departments, Warehouse, Shipping and Manufacturing, ensuring a safe, consistent, and positive working environment.
  • Manages daily activities in operations and functions. Leads and directs the work of others.
  • Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates and recommends changes to policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the overall achievement of departmental productivity and quality standards for the Warehouse, Shipping and Manufacturing supply chain.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Warehouse, Shipping and Manufacturing staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure 100% compliance on all routing and on time shipments, coordinating the most effective use of staff to accomplish results.
  • Constantly review operations for improvement of quality, efficiency, cost, and delivery.
  • Responsible for staying current with technologies and trends related to logistics and supply chain advancements.
  • Responsible for all departmental storage and equipment maintenance.
  • Responsible for operating within budgeted guidelines in all departments.
  • Recommend staffing levels and oversees performance, production, and training of department personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with all record-keeping and reporting requirements related to operations.
  • Evaluate and propose changes in Warehouse, Shipping and Manufacturing department procedures and implement as approved.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and supply orders to maintain Shipping needs and equipment in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Fully cross-trained and able to work in all positions within operations and will be required to assist workflow when necessary.
  • Attend planning and focus meetings to develop strategic plans, prioritize and implement processes for the benefit and growth of the Company.
  • Assist and support inventory control in maintaining accuracy.
  • Capture, record, and evaluate daily operations volumes and efficiencies as reported to staff.

Decision Making

Decision-making skills required. Evaluate the effects of planning and scheduling commitments on the overall workload in operations and make decisions pertaining to staffing, overtime, and changes in priorities by reviewing work in process daily.

Financial Authority

Responsible for operating within departmental budgets for Warehouse, Shipping and Manufacturing. Has authority to sign purchase orders up to the amount of $10,000.

Communication

Communicates in person and by email regularly with personnel in Warehouse, Shipping and Manufacturing.

Communicates daily in person, via email or by telephone to the Vice President on the status of operations, product and shipping orders. Communicates as needed with other managers and supervisors such as Accounting, Human Resources, and outside vendors on matters related to materials, processes, or services related to operations.

Supervisor Responsibility

Directly and indirectly supervises all personnel including oversight of supervisors, employees, work assignments, performance management and periodic evaluations. Responsible for hiring, training, coaching and counseling, conflict resolution and disciplinary action when needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience at the management level in a fast-paced distribution center environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety, concepts and principles of the distribution field.
  • Demonstrated experience working in Walmart Distribution preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience working in Warehouse Management Systems, Oracle WMS preferred.
  • Operate electric and gas-powered forklifts regularly.
  • Requires leadership and proficient interpersonal skills for management of people and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and drive engagement and inclusion.
  • Must possess initiative and interpersonal skills to ensure work is accomplished and still maintain harmonious employee relations in departments supervised.
  • Requires knowledge of simple office equipment, telephone, copier, adding machine and basic computer skills and knowledge.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study preferred.
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift, up to 10 hours.
  • Able to bend, twist, stoop and kneel and reach forward and overhead.
  • Must be adaptable to constant change and able to work well under pressure.
  • Able to work varying work hours to ensure production and quality standards.
  • Must have manual dexterity, visual acuity and ability to use computer, scanners, office and warehouse equipment.
  • Able to operate forklift and obtain certification.
  • Able to sit at a PC and phone for part of the workday.
  • Able to hear and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Computer, Radio Frequency ID Scanner, pallet jack, forklift and various warehouse equipment.
