Job Description

Job Title: Commercialization Technician/Engineer

Reports to: Plant Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Commercialization Technician/Engineer leverages his/her technical background and experience to bridge commercial opportunities from customers with internal capabilities and capacity. Work will involve running trials and testing new products, aligning work based on technical specifications and operational capabilities, and project management, and technical leadership with production resources. The role will be a liaison between internal and external stakeholders where multilayer film products will be used primarily for personal care, consumer packaging applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Project manager focused on developing coextruded film solutions that can be successfully commercialized for packaging applications
• Maintain customer satisfaction through project alignment and timeline management activities

• Work with marketing, sales, and technology leadership to identify new product solutions for customer needs

• Recommend existing product solutions for new customer applications

• Assist customers with product-related questions

• Assist in troubleshoot process and product issues on new development activities.

• Identify material and processing cost reduction opportunities
• Present project status reports to management using both written and verbal communication
• Work independently and in a cross-functional team environment

• Direct and coordinate trials as well as analytical and physical property testing

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates Degree or other 2-year technical degree required (B.S. or M.S. degree in Engineering, Material Science or Polymer Science preferred)

• 2+ years of relevant work experience

• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to work independently and with teams.

• Comfortable learning and using software used in day-to-day business operations, e.g. ERPs, Excel, Word, MS Teams, etc.

• Ability to travel when required. Estimated at <20%.


The successful candidate will have strengths in the following:
• Strong project management skills and experience

• Experience in manufacturing, lean, DAMAIC process strongly preferred

• Experience in the flexible film industry, especially with PE coextruded cast and blown films is desirable

• Knowledge of, or ability to learn, PE PCR incorporation into coextruded structures.

• Understanding, or ability to learn, printing and converting processes utilized within the flexible films industry

• Ability to understand regulatory requirements or concerns associated to developed products

• Experience using statistical methods and complex data analysis
• Flexibility to handle multiple projects simultaneously

• Skilled in presentation and written communication
