Job Title: CNC Machinist/Operator
Location: Baton Rouge Facility
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: Starting at $33/hr, depending on experience
Overview: We have an immediate need for an experienced CNC machinist/operator at our Baton Rouge facility. The successful candidate will set up and operate CNC machining centers, CNC lathes, and CNC horizontal boring mills, focusing on quality and consistency. Experience with manual lathes is highly preferred but not required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up machines accurately and efficiently.
- Operate CNC machines independently following the guidelines provided by our production programmer.
- Maintain consistent quality and production levels.
- Ensure traceability of all jobs.
- Meet daily and consistent quality and quantity standards.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Conduct daily maintenance on equipment.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols.
- Uphold policies related to work quality at all times.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years experience with CNC mills, lathes, and boring mills.
- Proficient in basic math.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints.
- Skilled in using measuring tools such as dial calipers, O.D. and I.D. micrometers, and bore gauges.
- Capable of setting up and running jobs on CNC machines efficiently.
- Able to manage multiple setups across various machines.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have a clean background.
- Must pass a drug screening test prior to employment.
Safety & Environmental Factors:
Compliance with the company’s safety guidelines is crucial for maintaining a secure work environment. This role involves:
- Operating in a potentially hazardous environment requiring careful use of equipment.
- Physical activities including standing for long periods, maneuvering around machinery, and handling of materials.
- Need for precise manual dexterity and occasional lifting of items weighing up to 40 lbs.
