Job Title: Civil Engineer

Location: Port Isabel, TX

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join our team for the Rio Grande LNG project. The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering activities associated with the construction of LNG facilities in Port Isabel, TX. This position offers the opportunity to work on a dynamic project with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and excellence in engineering.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop comprehensive civil engineering designs, plans, and specifications for LNG facilities in compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project objectives.
  2. Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments to inform the design and development of project infrastructure.
  3. Lead the preparation and review of engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation to support construction activities and ensure adherence to project specifications.
  4. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, and contractors, to integrate civil engineering components into overall project plans.
  5. Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively to meet milestones and deliverables within established timelines and cost constraints.
  6. Conduct quality assurance and quality control inspections to ensure that construction activities comply with approved designs, specifications, and safety standards.
  7. Provide technical expertise and support to resolve engineering issues, address design changes, and optimize construction processes to enhance project efficiency and performance.
  8. Liaise with regulatory agencies, local authorities, and community stakeholders to obtain permits, approvals, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and permits.
  9. Support commissioning and start-up activities, including site inspections, testing, and documentation, to verify the integrity and functionality of civil engineering systems and infrastructure.
  10. Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement by promoting best practices, knowledge sharing, and professional development among project team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in the oil and gas, energy, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, engineering analysis tools, and project management software.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction practices, and regulatory requirements applicable to LNG facilities and industrial projects.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex engineering projects from conception to completion, including planning, design, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship in all aspects of engineering design and construction activities.
