Slitter Operator - Full-time

Express Employment Professionals is looking for a Slitter Operator for our Valued Client in Niles, OH. 

 

Pay: Based on Experience 

Shift: 1st 

 

Responsibilities:

1. Machine Setup: Set up and adjust slitting machines according to job specifications, including blade alignment, tension settings, and speed controls.
2. Material Handling: Load materials onto the machine, ensuring proper alignment and tension for efficient and accurate slitting.
3. Quality Control: Monitor the slitting process to ensure precision and quality of the finished product, making adjustments as necessary.
4. Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues with the equipment or materials, such as jams, misalignment, or defects, to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
5. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on the machinery, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts, to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
6. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.
7. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including job orders, machine settings, and quality inspections.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Technical Proficiency: Experience and proficiency in operating slitting machinery or similar industrial equipment.
2. Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical skills with the ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
3. Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail to ensure precision and accuracy in the slitting process.
4. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively to minimize downtime.
5. Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy materials, and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
6. Teamwork: Capability to work effectively as part of a team, communicating with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate workflow and ensure production targets are met.
7. Safety Consciousness: Commitment to following safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably with experience operating slitting or converting machinery.
• On-the-job training or vocational certification may be required or preferred, depending on the employer''s specific requirements.
