About the Role:

As a Middle School Teacher specializing in Mathematics, you will inspire students in grades 1-4 to develop a strong foundation in mathematics through hands-on exploration and inquiry-based learning. This role is crucial in helping students build upon the knowledge foundation laid in their elementary years and delve deeper into mathematical concepts.

Responsibilities:

Math Lab Curriculum Development:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive math lab curriculum aligned with grade-level standards.
  • Design engaging activities, games, and projects that promote conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, and mathematical reasoning.
  • Integrate technology and manipulatives to enhance learning experiences.

Instruction and Facilitation:

  • Facilitate interactive and inquiry-based math lessons.
  • Guide students through mathematical investigations and explorations.
  • Provide differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

Collaboration and Professional Development:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate math concepts into the broader curriculum.
  • Participate in professional development to enhance teaching skills.
  • Actively contribute to the school community through involvement in committees and events.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification and/or relevant experience with elementary school students.
  • Strong understanding of elementary mathematics content and pedagogy.
  • Familiarity with inquiry-based and hands-on education approaches.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain an engaging classroom environment.
