WE ARE LOOKING FOR A DYNAMIC INDIVIDUAL THAT IS INTERESTED IN PARTNERING WITH US TO OPEN OUR STERILE COMPOUNDING PHARMACY, AS OUR PHARMACY TECHNICIAN. We are offering a $1,000 sign on bonus after 90 days of successfully completing employment.
The Pharmacy Technician must be a California registered pharmacy technician who works under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, prepares intravenous and intramuscular medications. The Compounding Pharmacy Technician will assist the Pharmacist in accordance with the policies and procedures of Hydration Room, the state's professional standards, and other regulatory entities. The Pharmacy Technician position will be a full-time, non-exempt position that reports to the Pharmacist at Hydration Room.
- Provide professional delivery service to our contracted facilities.
- Ensures efficient and productive operation of assigned work location.
- Performs pharmacy technician functions accurately and thoroughly.
- Acts as a liaison with nursing and medical staff concerning basic pharmaceutical information to achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Communicates effectively with all levels of staff. Fosters the development of teamwork within the department while meeting the needs of departments being served.
- Demonstrates the ability to assess a situation, consider the alternatives and choose an appropriate course of action.
- Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
- Properly use, calibrate, and maintain compounding equipment.
- Sample batches for quality testing. Execute required in-process product quality checks and documents accurately.
- Perform miscellaneous inventory of consumables to ensure proper stock.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in the compounding areas.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Training of other staff.
- Ensure accurate calculations on compounding logs.
- Tracking, ordering, and receiving orders of supplies.
- Follow all SOPs, USP and all other safety and company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with other pharmacy team members to compound preparations and execute quality assurance procedures, following standard operating procedures.
- Ensure all compounds are prepared in accordance with the master formulas and in accordance with USP 795, USP 797, and USP 800.
- Responsible for inspection, maintenance, cleaning, and sterilization of all laboratory equipment, instruments, utensils, and work surfaces.
- Monitor and record inventory of chemicals, materials, consumables, and other required items.
- Must be detail oriented and organized
- Ability to handle high work volume accurately at a fast pace and to work independently of supervision
- Must have professional level communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to maintain standards protecting client confidentiality.
- Demonstrates proficiency with following direction.
- High School or equivalent
- One year experience as a Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician preferred.
- Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician, in good standing.
- One year of experience in infusion or hospital setting, preferred.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent sterile compounding techniques.
- Must be able to lift from floor to waist up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English
- Must be able to give and receive verbal and written instructions
- Must be comfortable handling biological specimens
- Must possess the ability to utilize visual and auditory senses to complete all job duties as assigned
Compensation details: 30-32 Hourly Wage
