Network Support Specialist - Full-time / Part-time

Summary

The Network Support Specialist will ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer network; and implement and/or facilitate the initiatives of the Chief Information Officer. The Network Support Specialist will provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders. Also, work in coordination with the Network Administrator or other IT units to resolve issues.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize all network hardware, software and communication links
• Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades and repairs
• Develop, implement, and maintain the policies and procedures for network resource administration and disaster recovery
• Manage security solutions, including firewall, and intrusion detection systems
• Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services
• Manage and/or provide guidance to other members of the IT team
• Implement other job duties as directed
• Work with contractors to install network drops
• Available to be on-call for weekday nights and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in computer science
• Certification in CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) or CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
• Certification in CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
• Certification in Network+
