Oil Change Technician
Job Summary
The Oil Change Technician will perform maintenance work on company vehicles.
- Inspects parts for damage or wear and relaces parts as needed.
- Inspects the oil filter to make sure it is not damaged or clogged.
- Records oil change data such as mileage driven since last oil change, type of oil used, and type of filter installed.
- Changes oil, oil filters, and lubricant additives in vehicles according to manufacturer specifications.
- Installs new oil filters and adds oil to vehicles.
- Recommends maintenance services such as brake repairs, transmission repairs, and engine overhauls.
- Checks fluid levels in the transmission, power steering system, and brake system to ensure they are full.
- Lubricates drive line and equipment on vehicles.
- Replaces fuel and air filters as required.
- Assists maintenance foreman on tasks as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of the specialized area and general vehicle repair.
- Excellent mechanical repair skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.
- Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software.
- Ability to read service and repair manuals.
- Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion.
- Ability to read work orders.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of related experience.
- Valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with odors present.
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs. regularly.
- Must be able to inspect vehicle to determine repairs needed.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all-weather conditions.
