Job Summary:

The TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track Physician performs physical exams and partners with patients to create appropriate, evidence-based, medical treatment plans. Additionally, the Occupational Medicine Physician collaborates with the providers and Clinical Management team on patient cases and offers ongoing mentorship and supervision to Advanced Practice Providers (APRN/PA).

Requirements:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Select, order, perform, interpret tests, analyses results, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient conditions and augment physical findings.
  • Analyze reports and findings of tests to accurately diagnose patients.
  • Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness and injury.
  • Perform procedures including, but not limited to, laceration repair, incision and drainage, foreign body removal, basic X-ray interpretation, and EKG interpretation.
  • Provide referrals to medical specialists/advanced imaging when clinically indicated.
  • Explain procedures, discuss test results, prescribe evidence-based treatments, and provide patient education.
  • Take accurate and detail medical notes within EPIC at the time of service/date of service.
  • Assists to develop and review wellness programs within the organization.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Reports to Clinical Director, Medical Director, and Chief Medical Officer.
  • Collaborates with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers to assist in delivery of high-quality evidence-based care.
  • Works with and helps to assist the Director of Marketing in the acquisition and foundation of new accounts and regional marketing of occupational medicine and healthcare services.
  • Works with the Quality Assurance Director, Clinical Director, and management team to assist with, train and supervises providers and mid-office staff on protocols, policies, and procedures involving occupational injury/illness care, drug and alcohol testing, multiple types of occupational physicals and Fitness of Duty evaluations.
  • Assists with and helps to manage organizational regulatory compliance of occupational medicine programs.
  • This position has supervisory responsibility assisting with the supervision of medical providers in assigned clinic regions.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of JCAHO accreditation requirements and state and federal regulations including OSHA, HIPAA, blood borne pathogens and others.
  • Knowledge of computerized information systems used in business applications and clinical management systems (EMR). Relevant drugs and their pharmacologic properties. Non-pharmaceutical patient care aids, their applicable uses, and relevance to patient care.
  • Knowledge of computerized information systems used in business applications and clinical management systems (EMRs).
  • Ability to supervise, train and evaluate new and current provider staff.
  • Basic understanding of medical coding and billing.
  • Medical degree from accredited university, required
  • The applicant must be board-certified in family medicine and/or board-certified in the specialty of Occupational Medicine as certified by the board of Preventative and Occupational Medicine, required
  • A minimum of 2 years of practice in an Occupational Medicine facility, preferred
  • Active state and federal licensure requirements, required
  • BLS/ALCS/PALS certification, required
  • NRCME/DOT certification, required
  • Clinical experience in an emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting, preferred

Work Conditions:

  • This job operates in a professional medical environment.
  • Sunday-Saturday, 7:45am-8pm on a flexible scheduling basis (incl. weekends and holidays).
  • Requires travel between clinics, depending upon patient volume and clinic needs.
