Position Summary:


Performs credit analysis and conducts credit investigations to establish the financial condition of potential borrowers. Instrumental in the preparation of complete credit packages (may include spreadsheets, reports, summaries) for use by loan officers, senior management, loan committee, and loan review. Completes essential credit underwriting tasks according to established policy and procedure. Provides assistance with loan portfolio stress testing. Responsibilities:

  • Emulate SSB&T Core Values
  • Request and gather financial documents from loan officers and administrators as needed.
  • Use credit analysis checklist to track missing documents on pertinent credits.
  • Help with the coordination of reports required for loan approvals each week.
  • Enter financial data into the nCino software on assigned credits.
  • Calculate accurate cash flow and DSCR figures for existing and potential customers.
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses when analyzing loans.
  • Analyze collateral to determine adequacy.
  • Generate credit packages for loan requests.
  • Determine appropriate loan covenants based on loan type.
  • Ensure Loan Review has current analysis reports for all loans scheduled for review.
  • Provide assistance to loan officers and approving authorities as needed.
  • Contribute to department training for new underwriters and loan officers.
  • Update and maintain department workflow to ensure all credits are current including the tracking of missing documents.
  • Utilize financial analysis software to assist with vetting current and potential vendors.
  • Provide responses to loan officer questions/inquiries regarding analysis methods and reports as requested.
  • Attend assigned trainings

Requirements:
  • 1-3 years Credit Analysis experience required.
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience reading/understanding commercial/consumer financial reports and tax forms for corporations and individual.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Reader, Outlook, Explorer and general office equipment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willing to report to Loan Committee and Board with analysis findings.
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance or related field preferred.
  • Experience in tax accounting/preparation under CPA supervision preferred.
