Shipping Associate

Searching for a day shift position in the manufacturing industry? Don’t miss this opportunity! Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with an established company located in McGregor, MN. We are seeking candidates for Shipping Associate roles on the 1st shift. Hours for this position are 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday. Compensation for these temp-to-hire opportunities is $17.00-$18.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Interested? Read below for more details!

What a Shipping Associate will do:

\n
• Compare information and count, weight, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records
\n
• Determine method of shipment, posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage
\n
• Assemble or select preassembled containers, inserts items, covers and seals container
\n
• Stamp, stencil or glue identifying information/shipping instructions onto crates or containers
\n
• Unpack and inspect shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify
\n
• Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
\n
• Maintain inventory of shipping material and supplies
\n
• Operate tier lift truck or uses handy truck to convey, or hoist shipments
\n

What you need to be a Shipping Associate:

\n
• High school diploma or GED
\n
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
\n
• Ability to pass the forklift certification test
\n
• Willingness to work in extreme climate conditions
\n
• Previous experience in a shipping department
\n
