As a CMM Field Service Technician at MSI Viking, you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) at customer sites. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CMMs to ensure they operate accurately and reliably. This includes mechanical, electrical, and software components of the CMMs.

Successful candidates are meticulous, detail-oriented, self-starters who are committed to quality, precision, and timeliness in their deliverables.

Requirements

· Excellent communication skills (with both customers and co-workers)

· Reliable vehicle with current insurance

· Valid Driver’s License

Duties:

· Full service of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and similar equipment, including calibrating, troubleshooting, repairing, prep for move, etc.

· Problem-solving and repairing with minimal support.

· Pay attention to job requirements – ex. quoted vs. actual work required

· Exceptional communication skills with internal and external customers

· Adhere to ISO standards

· Travel up to 90% with some overnights

Qualifications:

· Basic operational experience with CMM software, i.e., PCDMIS, PolyWorks, CMM Manager, MCOSMOS, etc.

· Knowledge of machine controls, servo drives, and linear and rotary feedback systems.

· Experience related to diagnosing encoder and control feedback problems.

· Knowledge of basic hand tools for measurement

· Knowledge of the use of laser interferometers and alignment lasers.

· Ability to use an Oscilloscope and DVM

· Ability to read and understand schematics/blueprints.

· The ability to logically diagnose problems and effect repair.
