Salary:

Primary Objective

The primary function of an accounting information specialist is to post accounts payable and accounts receivable entries in an accurate and timely manner, and to provide information to management for them to observe the performance of our operation.

 

Education Requirements

  • 2-year accounting or equivalent experience

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Proficient knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience with AP/AR
  • Ability to learn and adapt to change.

 

Main Responsibilities

  1. Work Ethic/Environment:
    1. Show up to work on time, dress appropriately, and ready to go.
    2. Get along with co-workers and other departments to work efficiently to get things done.
    3. Take pride in what you do.
  2. Accounts Payable Processing:
    1. Receive and process invoices.
    2. Assist with coding invoices and determine that proper approval has been received.
    3. Input invoices into the accounting system to prepare them for payment.
    4. Match checks with invoices and to make sure payments are correct and on time.
    5. Filing invoices after payment
  3. Accounts Receivable Processing:
    1. Post daily market hog receipts.
      1. Match bank ACH sheet, kill sheet, trucker paperwork, and trucker schedule to market hog loads sold. Then ensure market hog management sheets are updated accordingly.
    2. Post-cull sow sales receipts and miscellaneous deposits.
      1. Match up checks to the appropriate paperwork.
    3. Accounting and Office Support Functions:
      1. Answer main phone line.
      2. Backup for others in the department as necessary
      3. All other duties as assigned.
