Description:
We are looking for physically fit candidates with good attention to detail for the position of diesel mechanic.
Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities
- Running diagnostic tests on commercial vehicles.
- Analyzing diagnostic test results.
- Installing PTOs, PTO Compressors, and Rear Fenders
- Changing and upgrading valves and piping on hazmat tanker trailers.
- Installing Electronic Logging systems with cameras into commercial vehicles.
- Checking vehicle lighting systems.
- Test drive commercial vehicles to gauge performance.
- Performing preventative maintenance on service trucks.
- Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles.
- Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.
- Maintaining a parts inventory.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop.
Diesel Mechanic Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license.
- 2 Years proven mechanic work.
- Aptitude for mathematics and science.
- Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.
- Good IT and diagnostic skills.
- Able to physically handle the requirements of this position.
- Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good organization skills.
- Class A CDL – not required but a plus.
- State/Federal Inspection License – not required but a plus.
- Tanker Trailer Knowledge – not required but a plus.
