Summary

Prince George Preschool is looking for a Director/Leader with a passion for quality preschool education, who is energetic and dedicated to ensuring honest communication. We are looking for someone who can partner with Prince George Preschool teachers, family, school board and church vestry to administer the day-to-day operations of a 56 student preschool serving students from 2 years-K4. The Director shall use the PGP mission statement as a guide: The mission ofPrince George Preschool is to provide a loving, safe environment where children play, learn and grow in the love and knowledge of the Lord.

Duties

KEY Responsibilities
Licensing - The director shall be responsible for keeping a current DSS license, maintaining employee and child records and passing all necessary inspections.

Students – The director shall be responsible for enrolling prospective students, providing all necessary registration materials and maintaining all required student records. The director is the first point of contact for the preschool, therefore; the director will be available to meet parents for the enrollment process and will keep parents and students informed of all school activities and all changes to the school calendar in coordination with the public school schedule as they arise. The director will be available to parents and students for counsel if necessary.

Employees - The director shall supervise employees by recruiting, interviewing, and selecting teachers and assistants for the classrooms, provide for their orientation and evaluation, and will ensure all staff completes their required SC Endeavors training. The director is responsible for scheduling CPR, Basic First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen training. The director will manage the teaching staff and the housekeeping staff as it pertains to the preschool. When necessary, the director functions as the moderator between parent and teacher. The director will also function as the moderator between staff members if necessary.

General Responsibilities
The director shall provide oversight for the operations of the preschool administratively to ensure successful employee management, facility management and financial management. The director works with the board to administer and facilitate fundraising.

BOARD RESPONSIBILITIES
The director schedules the Board meetings and works with Board Secretary to set the agenda.The director shall be prepared to report on the following topics: Curriculum, Communication, Safety, Buildings and Grounds and Licensing

Requirements

The director/co-director must be at least 21 years old and must meet SCDSS requirements for a Center Director.(CDA/Associates Degree or higher)
The director must have a minimum of one year experience in an approved, licensed or registered childcare facility.
The director must have strong administrative skills.
Three letters of recommendation are required.
