Job Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient day-to-day operations of the organization’s human resources department.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management: Building and maintaining relationships with clients by understanding their staffing needs, addressing concerns, and providing excellent customer service.
- Onboarding and Orientation: Facilitating the onboarding process for new hires, including completing necessary paperwork, conducting orientations, and ensuring compliance with client requirements and regulations.
- Employee Management: Managing the performance and attendance of temporary employees placed at client sites, including addressing performance issues, providing feedback, and handling disciplinary actions if necessary.
- Compliance and Legal Matters: Ensuring compliance with employment laws, regulations, and client-specific policies. This includes managing workers' compensation claims, addressing safety concerns, and handling any legal issues related to temporary workers.
- Communication and Coordination: Serving as a liaison between clients, temporary employees, and the staffing agency. Communicating job assignments, scheduling changes, and other relevant information to both clients and employees.
- Problem-solving: Resolving any issues or conflicts that may arise during the assignment, such as performance issues, conflicts between employees and clients, or other challenges.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of candidate information, client interactions, and assignment details. Generating reports on recruitment metrics, employee performance, and client satisfaction as required.
- Training and Development: Providing training and support to temporary employees to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their assignments. This may include job-specific training, safety training, and professional development opportunities.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifying areas for improvement in recruitment, placement, and client service processes. Implementing changes and best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of onsite operations.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resources files, records, and documentation.
- Answers common and frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resources files and records.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records, ensuring all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Provides clerical support to the HR department.
- May assist with payroll functions, including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing physical checks.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills, with proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with, or able to quickly learn, payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), or similar applications.
- Able to work weekends, as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prior related office experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
