Accounting Manager/Supervisor

The Accounting Supervisor will oversee the activities of the accounts payable and general ledger areas of the department to ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions in compliance with US GAAP.

Scope
The Accounting Supervisor leads a team of Accounting Professionals and is responsible for the day-to-day operations and results of the team. This position reports to the Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Accounts Payable: Supervise the accounts payable processes, including invoice processing and vendor payments to maintain healthy cash flow management.

General Ledger Management: Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing procedures, to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Internal Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, conducting periodic audits to assess effectiveness and mitigate risks.

Audit Compliance: Collaborate with external audit advisors to ensure completion of audit.

Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to foster a high-performing and collaborative work environment.

Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate accounting processes and procedures, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and implementing best practices to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.

Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management, providing financial expertise and insights to support business objectives and drive organizational success.- Proven knowledge of Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation

- Expertise in Financial Statement

- Solid understanding of month end closings

- Strong familiarity with Financial Statement Audits

- General familiarity with Annual Audited Financial Statements

- Well-founded grasp of Audit Workpapers

- Experience with account reconciliation

- Financial statement preparation experience

- Ability to simplify complex problems and build solutions

- Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable

- Demonstrated technology and analytical abilities

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience

- Customer service oriented communication skills

- Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

- Recent relevant financial experience
