Job Description
Summary: Seeking a Systems Administrator to maintain multi-user computing environments, ensure system performance, and manage security controls.
Responsibilities:
Maintain operation of multi-user computer systems, coordinate infrastructure and cloud responsibilities.
Develop and design core operating system builds; responsible for coding, virtualization, and automation.
Manage administrator and service accounts, active directory users, system documentation; tune system performance.
Install system-wide software and allocate mass storage space.
Resolve user access issues related to security controls.
Identify and evaluate vendor products; establish vendor monitoring processes.
Perform capacity planning; monitor/tune systems for optimal performance.
Recommend platforms for purchase; coordinate installation; provide backup recovery.
Escalate major incidents unresolved by helpdesk.
Develop policies for computing resource allocation.
Must Have:
Experience with Satellite support for Linux systems.
Proficiency in package development/deployment using rpm, yum, dnf.
Expertise in supporting RHEL 7/8 workstation/server environments.
Skills in bash/shell, Python, perl scripting.
Knowledge of Linux troubleshooting including boot process, Kickstart building, monitoring resources, kernel tuning.
Configuration of storage for Linux (LVM, file systems, RAID encryption).
Strong network skills (packet captures, NIC tuning).
Security+ certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant technical field.
Nice to Have:
Ansible Automation Platform experience for Linux systems support.
DevSecOps environment support experience.
Software deployment support on Linux systems.
Cloud infrastructure support experience in classified/public domains. -- Familiarity with Command Cyber Readiness Inspection (CCRI) process.
Clearance:
- Candidates must have an active Secret clearance due to the nature of work.
Pay Details: $65.00 to $87.00 per hour
