Position Summary
This position is responsible for defining the vision and strategy for Factory/Plant automation that will allow us to modernize and consolidate IT infrastructure across all plants, automate workloads, and pursue next-generation innovation. The engineer will need expertise in IT Systems and strategy, design, development, and implementation of large-scale projects, with a secure design, and in the cloud or on-premise. Experience with a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications, and the ability to customize them to help our business become more secure and efficient. Extensive knowledge of FAS maintenance, and advanced industry knowledge on Security are key to keeping us on the cutting edge.
The individual in this position must remain continuously aware of business (plants), technology, architecture, and act as a sounding board to aid in launching creative solutions. The incumbent works closely with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to direct the identification of system requirements and coordinate the resolution and approval of solutions to identified issues that will improve business processes and support critical business needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience is beneficial
  • 8+ years of hands on experience within IT Infrastructure, Systems Administration, Security Controls, and Networks
  • Strong demonstrated experience within the IT Security Controls on the whole IT landscape (Servers, Network and Application Stacks)
  • Strong Factory Automation with IT systems experience
  • Proven knowledge with Hosting and Storage: Compute (Linux, Windows) Virtualization (VMWare) and FAS systems
  • Solid Cloud experience, preferably in AWS
  • Proven scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python, Powershell)
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels in the organization
  • Ability to interpret a variety of FAS instruments and blue prints including Six Sigma
  • Experience in the food/produce industry or in a CPG environment
  • Five or more years of hands on experience in which one or more of the following occurred:
    • Demonstrated competency in strategic and design thinking with strong abilities in Infrastructure/FAS systems setup
    • Successfully developed and implemented application solutions in new computing architecture environments using new and emerging technologies

Primary Duties

Functional-Infrastructure

  • Install and configure operating systems, software, and hardware components, and clearly document the design, maintenance, and support procedures for routine tasks to leverage IT support staff
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with application teams to implement those fixes
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
  • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel to conduct high-level root-cause analysis for service interruption and establish preventive measures
  • Standardize and automate processes and monitoring using scripting
  • Define and implement secure infrastructure solutions between on premise data centers, Factories, and commercial clouds
  • Work closely with the Applications team to ensure standard solutions and technologies are correctly leveraged by the Factory Support Teams
  • Work extended hours as needed including being available for off hours production support
  • Help the Plant engineers and application development team navigate through the right integration environment when choosing the right services
  • Develop new and maintain existing documentation for Infrastructure designs, as well as on-going operational and administrative procedures
  • Work closely with network and cloud engineers to implement IT infrastructure solutions and ensure established processes and policies are adhered to
  • Conduct research as required for new infrastructure technologies, and help develop best practices and patterns to aid in the adoption of new technologies that are appropriate to the company's requirements (especially with Plants)
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the organization's technologies and architectures
  • Identify and lead the resolution of highly complex technical problems

Functional - Factory Automation Support

  • Works with the plant on a daily basis resolving issues by providing technical support to the maintenance department to expedite repairs on challenging breakdowns or
  • tasks as related to IT Infrastructure (both systems and Network)
  • Manages/supports building IT infrastructure for Factory production line installations and/or modifications
  • Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with Industrial engineers on an ongoing basis
  • Manage the tasks for the Tech Team (EUS) as it relates to fixing issues at Plants
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product to bring the right operational efficiencies
  • Test both IT infrastructure and third party connectivity for vulnerabilities
  • Sustain, update, and manage critical systems to ensure continued availability of business solutions, with accurate results, in order to drive efficient operations
  • Ensure compliance with local, State and Federal agencies
  • Confers with plant and IT management, and other personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment and system malfunctions supported by IT systems

General Management

  • Maintains quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards; analyzing and resolving quality and customer service problems; identifying trends; recommending system improvements
  • Establishes strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information; identifying and evaluating trends and options; choosing a course of action; defining objectives; evaluating outcomes
  • Assists project managers, as well as the business facing team especially Plants, with project onboarding

Desired Qualifications (& Skills)

  • Demonstrated high competency in project management and the execution of multiple large projects, including managing resources across multiple projects to meet goals
  • Should have experience of working with Windows and Linux OS
  • Strong knowledge on Factory/Plant environments with IT integration
  • Should have good understanding of cloud elements (storage / compute / network / security)
  • Use of common office software including Microsoft Office and applicable specialized engineering software, e.g., AutoCad, Visio, and conceptual knowledge of Rockwell / Allen-Bradley programming software
  • Ability to develop a strong understanding of the Bonduelle model and build strong relationships within and between the different Business Units
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and persuade at all management levels and thrive in a cross-functional environment
  • Knowledge of the company’s business practices and direction, as well as familiarity with the company’s products and resources
  • Demonstrates thorough level of knowledge across multiple IT application platforms and delivery methodologies, emphasizing proven success with defining and implementing business motivation and use case/actor models, and business capability roadmaps, as well as a proven track record gathering and defining business and functional requirements.
  • Demonstrates a proven success record of completing projects involving the delivery of mobile and web applications, including supporting third party application delivery in a secured manner
  • Demonstrates proven, and thorough levels of ability, and success as both an individual contributor and team member to identify and address needs: actively participating in business discussions and facilitating meetings; utilizing effective written and verbal business communication skills when interacting with team members; managing engagements, including preparing concise, accurate documents and maintaining project economics while maintaining flexibility for unanticipated issues.

Location: Irwindale, CA or Jackson, GA. This is a hybrid role - 3 days onsite at one of our plant locations, 2 days remote.
Pay: $110-140K depending on experience
