About the Role

The Health & Safety Sr. Lead will support the coordination, implementation or execution of WeWork's H&S management systems. You will be an ambassador of Health and Safety responding to our business' unique challenges with an approach that balances an un-compromised search for Health and Safety excellence with a commercial and innovative approach.

Objective:

The Health & Safety Sr Lead will monitor existing H&S programs and assist on the implementation of new H&S initiatives.

The Health and Safety Lead will travel as needed within the region.

Core Duties

  • H&S Lead will help drive and facilitate H&S programs throughout USC (US and Canada)

  • Work closely with the Community, Facilities and Security Teams to provide insight and guidance on Health and Safety matters as required

  • Work closely with the Facilities Teams to ensure robust facilities maintenance regimes are in place to adequately control risks such as fire, legionella, electricity, lifts etc

  • Promote other cross functional initiatives that foster a world class Health and Safety culture and standards

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the implementation and monitoring of Health and Safety training programs that empower our Community Teams to become Health and Safety and emergency leaders. (Including but not limited to Occupational H&S, Fire Safety and First Aid)

  • Coordinate the implementation and monitoring of WeWork's fire drill program and the creation and update of fire emergency plans

  • Carry out H&S audits in WeWork buildings when required to ascertain any gaps in the implementation of WeWork's H&S standards

  • Deliver H&S training as required

  • Update WeWork's Emergency plans and oversee the H&S incident reporting systems; detecting trends and carrying out investigations when required

  • Manage OSHA incident reporting requirements maintaining up to date logs and reports

  • Engage with contractor/vendor companies as needed to resolve H&S concerns/questions

Experience and Requirements

  • 3+ years practical experience in the implementation and monitoring of Health and Safety programs

  • Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

  • Ability to work with a large, diverse group of employees and suppliers

  • Ability to meet goals in a fast-paced, changing environment and under pressure

  • Self-starter - able to identify and execute work that needs to be done with minimal direction

  • Excellent communication, organization and writing skills

  • Ability to solve practical problems using reasoning skills

  • experience of Health and Safety governance, risk management and reporting.

  • Ability to initiate and maintain extensive contacts with professionals and officials of other organizations and companies

  • Ability to inspire and engage as part of behavioral based safety initiatives

  • Experience in change management

  • influencing skills at all levels

  • Strong time management skills and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability and experience to develop and implement training material

  • Ability to find innovative solution to H&S related problems

  • Proficient in applicable technology programs (not all inclusive): Microsoft Office, Slack, Salesforce

Compensation & Benefits

Base Pay: $81,750 - $109,000 USD

Incentive Compensation: WeWork employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan specific to their role. Your recruiter will detail what incentive plan is applicable to this specific role. WeWork incentive plans are subject to the terms of the applicable incentive compensation plan, which will be made available to you after commencing employment. WeWork reserves the right to amend its incentive plans, and nothing in this job requisition or any other document creates a right to a specific incentive plan payment.

Benefits: Full-time employees are eligible for comprehensive benefits (subject to the terms of applicable plans/policies/agreements, which will be made available to you after commencing employment), including 20 days of PTO, approximately 10 paid holidays, 80 hours of paid sick leave, 16 weeks paid parental leave, competitive healthcare benefits, 401K plan, Life & AD&D insurance.
