Description:

GENERAL JOB FUNCTION

The calibration technician is responsible for maintaining, testing and calibrating the variety of

instruments and equipment; Ensures that all instruments, meters and test devices are calibrated

correctly and perform accurate readings. Comply with the Policy and Quality Manual (QM), Description

of the System of Calibration (CSD) of MPC and the internal work regulations.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for calibrating variety of test instruments for one or more skill areas, such as:
  • Electrical Equipment
  • Dimensional Equipment
  • Industrial / Mechanical Equipment
  • Temperature Equipment
  • ? RF/Optical Equipment

Calibration Process

  • Conducts pre-evaluation and inspections to all customer equipment such as visual checking,cleaning, functional and self-testing.
  • Ensures that maintenance, minor repair and calibration of equipment are carried out and completed based on the set schedule in accordance with customer specifications and requirements.
  • Communicates the status and proper calibration updates to the concerned personnel or group on a timely manner; regularly collaborates with other technicians.
  • Analyzes data, uncertainty computation, uploading of data and report generation.
  • Ensures compliance to quality standard based on existing and approved quality procedures.
  • Ensure that environmental conditions are adequate for the work performed in house and at customer facility.
  • Ensure that the version used of the calibration procedure is the most recent and suitable for the instrument under test
  • Transport the instruments (customer and MPC), including reference standards, reference materials, software and hardware, so that it does not adversely affect the accuracy of the instrument does not degrade the net value of the instrument.
  • Notify the Quality Assurance Manager, the customer, Division Manager and Sales Manager when an instrument is lost, damaged at any point of the service, or stolen having it under the protection of MPC.
  • Ensure that the nomenclature and identification of the instruments is accurate and complete in CMS assuring it match with instrument identification.
  • Ensure that calibration certificates contain accurate information and that all information required by the client is documented in the report.
  • Verify reported results, used calibration procedures, approved functions, reference standards used and identification of traceable patterns for accuracy and reproducibility.

Other

  • Performs standard maintenance & checking of company standards if assigned by Lab Manager.
  • Work inhouse, locally, or some travel regionally (Southeast) to perform calibration work if assigned by Lab Manager.
  • Continues to be trained in all aspects of MP Calibration Services and shares gained knowledge and other best practices with the rest of the members of the team.
  • Works with the Department in setting general goals and develops, supports and implements plans to hit identified targets; recommends improvement to support current operation and related processes.
  • Observes safety precautions and quality standard in the performance of task and complies with the company directives and policies; observes proper communication practices and manages confidentiality of information within and outside the group.
Requirements:

The professional qualifications required and the experience necessary to effectively complete the

responsibilities of this position.

Education:

  • Educational attainment gained from Technical or other related courses, preferably in Calibration, Instrumentation, Electronics or its equivalent

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3 year of experience in electronic for electronic technology; mechanical / dimensional for mechanical technology
  • Experience in basic instrumentation and manual tools.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

  • Demonstrates good verbal communication, good written skills
  • Knowledgeable in calibration procedures, computation of uncertainty and computer applications.
  • Must have keen eye for quality and details, basic problem solving techniques.
  • Familiar with techniques and tools associated with ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Team player, Trustworthy, Service oriented and can manage priorities.
